12" X 12" X 1" MERV 11 Pleated Filter *Listed filter size is nominal. Actual filter size is up to ½" less on all dimensions. Better filtration is the first step in improving Indoor Air Quality. Pleated Panel Filters outperform ordinary furnace filters with higher efficiency and lower pressure drop allowing air-handling systems to stay cleaner and operate more efficiently. We achieve this with 100% synthetic electrostatically charged gradient density media, optimum pleat spacing and high initial and sustained efficiency, high dust holding capacity and very low pressure drop. The media is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, does not absorb moisture and will not support microbial growth Benefits: -Catches and holds more pollen, dust, dirt, etc. than standard pads or panel type HVAC filters creating a healthier IAQ (Indoor Air Quality)environment. -Medium efficiency filtration protects expensive HVAC equipment from the effect of dirty air and significantly reduces costly building maintenance. -Extends life of more expensive secondary filters (RIGID, CELLS, HEPAS, BAGS, etc.) -Can last up to four times the life of standard pads or panel type filters thereby drastically reduces material and maintenance and labor costs. Specifications: -Air filters are pleated media type. -The filter media consists of 100% synthetic electrostatically charged thermally bonded fibers with no chemical binders. -The media is continuously bonded to a 30 guage galvanized, corrosion resistant, expanded metal support grid with an effective open areaof 96%. -The media is pleated to maximize surface area and dust holding and minimize airflow resistance. -The enclosure frames are constructed of high wet strength, moisture resistant beverage board. -Diagonal support members of the frame are bonded to the air entering and exit apexes of each pleat to prevent pleat collapse and filter bowling. -The inside periphery of the enclosing frame is completely bonded to the outer edges of the filter media to prevent bypass. -The air filters are listed and rated by Underwriters Laboratory as UL class 2 and have a maximum teperature rating of 180 degrees Farenheit. I read some comments that the true size is a bit smaller than 12x12. I felt this allowed the filters to fit in the opening better. Seems like a very good product for a great price.

Even though you're ordering 12" x 12", the filters you receive are actually labeled as 11.5" x 11.5" I'm guessing someone decided it would allow an additional filter to be produced if they used 0.25 sq. inches less material per product. Their "Quality Filters" brand 20" x 20" MERV 11 Kimberly Clark filters are actually the correct size so feel free to try other sizes since they may be a perfect fit. Also, these don't seem flow as well as the 3M Filtrete products I have been using-- causing a noticeable increase in noise and a difference in pressure within the HVAC system (try to pull one off while the blower is running and it's a lot more difficult)
Filter-outlet shipped them quickly, but they were loose inside the cardboard box and not wrapped in anything. I assumed a package of six would be in a package, now I'm storing them inside a plastic trash bag until I use them.

This filter size is impossible to find at local warehouse building retailers. IAQ always has it available. I was skeptical about the claim that a MERV 11 filter would make a big difference for our indoor air quality. However, this is my second year using them and I have noticed a huge difference. In our older home (> 75 years old) the filters last about 2 months, though some newer homes may get even longer service. If you have family members with allergy problems, a MERV 11 filter like this one is a must.

I had moved into a condominium development and was anxious to have my heating and air conditioning system inspected. While 16X25X1 filters are available at every big box and local hardware stores, my system required 12X12X1 and 14X14X1 filters. These odd filter sizes were no where to be found in my neighborhood. I started some internet searching and found this site. Their filters seem to have very good particulate retention and are available in the unusual sizes that I requre. The dimensions of the filters was NOT as advertised. While the website DOES state that the dimensions specified are NOMINAL, there is no indication of the PRECISE dimensions of these filters.

I need 12 x 12 x 1: I received 11 3/4 x 11 5/8 x 1/2. The filters sent to me did not "work" in my filter housing, so I returned them for a refund.

The quality of the filter CONTENT appears excellent: the DIMENSIONS appear to be ersatz.
