Aprilaire / Space-Gard #201 High Efficiency Filtering Media (2-Pack) .. These are the original, OEM expandable "accordian" style, factory recommended replacement filters for the Aprilaire/Space-Gard Model 2200 and 2250 Air Cleaner. MERV 10 rated. The filters ship like a collapsed accordian and are expanded into a plastic frame within the air cleaner cabinet. The filter is snapped into the plastic frame and held in place with your existing pleat spacers (NOT INCLUDED). Assembly instructions are printed on the product carton. The air cleaner media in the Model 2200 can last from 6 months up to 2 years. If installed on a 5-ton system, in the presence of high concentration of particulate, or if the furnace fan is on continuously, it may be necessary to change the media more frequently. In any application, the life of the media is dependant upon the total volume of air being moved through it as well as the amount of particulate it is filtering. I do have a problem with the filter & filtering system. The filter box has 2 kinds of filters & it is only possible to replace one of them. The side filter or insulation on the box is not replacable. Couldn't figure that out since it was filtering also.

It was easy to install, took about 10 minutes. I used a flat head screw driver to pop up the black pleat spacers. I replace the filter annually. Since there were two filters in the box, I don't have to buy a new one next year.It works great. I also have an Aprilaire humidifier installed in my furnace. I would recommend that too. The air quality is great all year around.

It is difficult to know effective these air filters are. They do get dirty. The design of the air filter with the dividing prongs makes it very difficult and time consuming to replace.

The filters I bought were perfect for my Aprilaire 2200 unit. The instructions in each box were pretty clear. I was a bit concerned as the ribs (that you re-use in the filter frame) are somewhat delicate, but it turned out fine. I was happy to change my filthy filter and it wasn't a big mess. I found this model easier to install than previous filters I purchased at a local home store. This has yarn/string running through both ends which made it easier to space the filter out and hold it in place while you insert the plastic spacers. Would definately order this again.

Installation takes a few minutes. More difficult than the simple "slide-in" filters but much better filtering. Your furnace/AC must be set up for this product. It is not a "universal" replacement product.
