The filters arrived quickly. They were very easy to install...Goodbye combs!! They fit perfectly in all 3 of my units and turned a 90 minute job into a simple 20 minute job. Kudos to the idea of sending the new filter in a closable plastic bag to use to dispose of the spent filter. The whole experience was much less painful.

My Aprilaire filter system of course works at its best when the filter is changed frequently. The filters I used to use were very compact, but required the plastic "finger clips" which were a huge pain (literally--on my fingers) and very labor-intensive since you had to put a "finger" in every pleat. These "box type" filters really streamline the process, and I like the higher MERV rating as opposed to the old ones. Bravo!!

These new filters are infinitely superior to the old ones. There are no more combs to mess with and the old flimsy filters have been replaced by sturdy, rigid, boxed ones. As soon as the first one was installed we could tell a difference in our central heating/AC. It was much quieter and two days later we were not accumulating dust on furniture. The expanded cartridges are the only way to go. Lining up the "fingers" on the old system was a tedious pain. The expanded cartridges greatly simplify filter replacement and the price is essentially the same. Highly recommended.

I replaced the merv 3 accordion style filter with the merv 11. With the merv 3 I always had a lot of dust on things in my home. With the merv 11 this is not the case so far. Also it is so easy to install versus the merv 3 accordion filter which was a real pain to install. The new merv 11 installs just like a regular filter and it costs less than the old merv 3. I will buy this product again.

Replaced the old accordian-style filter with a perfect fit, just as advertised. Beverage board framework seems a little light-gauged, but time will tell how well it holds-up (have been using only 2 weeks so far).

Easy to install -- no "combs", that easily break, no fussing with expanding the accordian fold. Took only several minutes to replace both my filters. And, only a few dollars more than the pleated version -- the "combs" cost as much as one filter but are not needed with the expanded cartridge product.

It was such a hassle when we had the old fan folds. I was very skeptical at first about trying this as a replacement filter. Since the claim was it is easier, I gave it a try. That was over a year ago and I am more than satisfied. I don't mind the few minutes it takes me. Removing the dirty filter is also a snap.

I can't believe how easy this was to use! I am a single Mom and have lived in this house for 12 years. I have always had the Heating contractor come to change the filter not knowing how to do it myself. Last summer I installed a new AC and furnace and the contractor said that it should be fine that they don't have to check it this season but just change the filter. So I googled you, watched the video and put it in myself!!! It could not have been easier, and it cost way less than a service call. Thank you!

As a landlord, keeping my properties & HVAC systems that have an April Aire filtration system in good working order is number 1 priority to keeping long term tenants, as well as keeping everything cost efficient. This product is so easy to install...no need to call an HVAC technician & pay for their labor charges to install a complicated filter system. Or spend 15-20 minutes assembling the old "plastic comb with teeth & frame system" yourself. Other vendor's filters that I've purchased in the past, still need some type of assembling....have sharp metal edges that cut your hands. Not these filters! Heavy duty, rigid construction with no sharp edges, a MERV 11 rating for good filtration which does not restrict the air flow [...]

This is for a ultra high-efficiency furnace. Furnace repair company previously installed filters for me. Filters came compressed and needed to be assembled before being installed. They also needed 6 or so plastic pleat separators, which were broken because they are old. New filters are pre-assembled, easy-to-install, no pleat separators needed!!!

We had A/C malfunction that caused the existing filters to become wet and occluded. I pulled the filter tray, flipped back the retaining flaps, removed the existing filter element and dropped in the new one. TA DA!! Done. The hardest part was pulling the combs from the old element.

These filters really saved me time and much frustration. I have an Aprilaire clean air system that came with filters with comb inserts. After I found these filters online I couldn't believe the ease to replacing my old filters. NO COMBS necessary to fit in the filter. Simple to install and very durable. In the past, I had to pull out an accordian like filter and separate each and every pleat and place a long plastic comb-like item in between the pleats. X three combs. Time consuming and bothersome. Now all I have to do is remove one from the box and insert into the proper space in the furnace. Thank goodness I discovered this site.

This is the second set I have purchased and was completely satisfied with the first. It's alot better than messing with the combs of the original. Pain in the rear. The second set came with a new filter element that is white. The other came with a tan element. Harder to see the dirt. But worked great. I live in the country so there is alot of pollen. I don't have bad allergy's but once I was in my house I noticed I didn't sneeze quite as much. I change them once in the fall and in the spring. Highly recommend them. The new ones seem to be alittle better quality. Worth the money and cheaper than the orginal. Hope this helps.

... I could kick myself for sticking with the old style of filter so long. It used to take me 30 mins to properly fit the new filter into the plastic comb (which slowly became chipped and broken), now it's a quick 'out with the old and in with the new'. Put the old filters into the bag and box just vacated by the new and back to the couch.

Used this filter to replace the stock Aprilair filter. It fits, it seems decently well made, though it does seem slightly narrower than the original. Maybe by 1/2" or so. No biggie. It filters the air well - I've got nasty allergies & rely on my hvac system to keep the air in the house free of allergens for me. No hesitation in purchasing again.

Did not have a chance to see how good the product is because there was unusually cold weather in the Northeast US and I didn't get a chance to use my air conditioner. But I did love the idea of not having to use spacers. I also was very happy with how easily the filter fit in the frame. Making pre-fitted cartridge filters is a great idea.

Took less than a minute to read the instructions and 3 minutes to pull the old filter and insert this one. Compare that to the 15+ minutes it used to take to line up the inserts and make it fit. This is a no brainer - buy it.

The preassembled filter media takes the slumping variable out of this filter. The unit came with a folded filter with 5 "combs" that you have to be an artist to install neatly and evenly. It is the even spacing of the filter pleats that are critical to the filter performance. This pre-assembled unit goes into the filter in a minute. The high point is that the media is properly aligned to maximize filtration increasing the effectiveness of the filter.

Cant get any easier than this. Before these came along I spent a half hour in a hot attic (where my AC unit resides) threading the filter through an exasperating number of plasic pleats; usually one or two always ended up on the wrong side of the filter.
Now you just "pop" 'em in.

This filter slid right into place. Much easier to use than the folded paper filter. The combs I had to previously use to keep the filter expanded were mostly broken, and the cost of replacing those made these ready-fit filters much more economical.

The original system included media and plastic combs that separated the media. The combs were subject to breakage and were expensive to replace. This media takes the place of the original media and combs/spacers. Easy to install and forget about. Thank you for this fine alternative to the original.

Purchased the cartridge version as an alternative to maintaining the expandable system where the comb separaters frequently break. Seems like a pretty good solution. Went in easy and seems to be working well.

[...] A search on the web using the dimentions was unproductive. Using filter make produced 5 suppliers of varying types. Some filters of the original type requiring the 'comb' seperators and most with the cardboard encasement, which is the type purchased, making a simplified installation.
