This filter is pre-expanded and ready to use. It has a cardboard frame to hold everything in place and fits inside the existing plastic filter holder. It installs in under 5 minutes, as opposed to the hour it usually takes me because of the spacers/spreaders you have to use with the usual filter replacement. These spreaders break regularly; it was cheaper to buy these two filters than to buy the flat cartridge and spreaders. Overall a good buy and good decision.

These filters are much better than the filters which came with the furance which required setup.
Just insert in the furance and close the door and it is good for an extended time period.

This new filter is a big improvement over the old type that requires combs to hold the filter pleats open. Easy and convienent to install.

This is much easier than installing the original pleated filters with the combs. My Space guard filter is about 8 years old and all the clip on attachments on the combs are broken.

When we took the old filter out there were arrows on the filter directing us of the air flow through the filter. New filter didn't have direction arrows so had to guess.

This fully assembled filter is much easier to install than the origional replacable paper media. Buying online is also much better than traveling around town looking or calling several places trying to find the filters.
