Slightly easier to install than the original style with combs.
It has fewer folds which means less filtering surface. I would expect to have to replace this more often leading to a higher cost.
I'll probably switch back to the original style after I've used up these filters.

If you have ever changed a "pleated" filter on an Aprilaire 2400 whole house air cleaner, you won't use a pleated one again if you buy the assembled filter. I am happy to find these filters available on this site at a very good price. I'll will purchase the filters again when the time comes. Thanks for such quality products.

I just recently installed the filters, so I haven't had time to see how efficient they are. I was concerned to see that they were not as dense (MANY fewer folds) than the original version. If they do work as well,they are winners because of the ease of installation!

All good filters can plug up from too long a period with out replacement. Use General aire G-99 Gage with any good filter and remote kit. Excellent !! A must.

This generic filter is easier and cleaner to replace than the original AprilAire OEM media and offers a higher MIRV BUT it must be replaced about twice as often as the original and colapses badly when dirty. I have used four of these sequentially. In my large house with constant air filtering they last about 6 months.
I will replace this with the new 16 MIRV AprilAire conversion unit which also does not need pleat spacers.

Previously had a filter with spacers. This was much easier to install and I was finished quickly. I'm using it for heating and A/C. Working well so far. I would recommend this filter to all, especially senior citizens like myself.

My husband doesn't have time to be handy and I am cheap! I hate hiring anyone to do something I could do just as well. This filter was a snap to replace and I love that I received two so on the next replace I can reorder then! This filter seemed to be just as strong as the original filter. It is a breeze. Our other filter required lots of very messy assembly. This one just pops in and you are done. It is smaller than the previous filter but covers the intake completely so it filters just as effectively.

This product is purely amazing! It takes seconds to install because the outer framing box is no longer needed! There is no messy inserting or taking out. The box cartridge filter can be pushed right into the chamber in seconds and I can't say enough about this product, I recommend it very much to anyone needing a Space-gard 2400 filter. You will not beat this price!!

This is not an exact fit for the plastic shell of the 2400 filter. It fits around the sides, but the shell cannot be fully closed when this filter is inserted.

While dealing with the comb dividers was never that difficult, it did take 5-10 minutes of manipulation to get them right. These are simply pop-in/pop-out. 30 seconds, and you're done. Higher MERV (11 v 10) as well. Well worth the $3 extra.

These were easier to install than the accordion style stock / factory filters but the fit wasn't quite perfect. Leaves a little room on the sides of the case where air could flow through vs. going through the air filter. Good enough, but not a perfect fit.

I am disabled and on oxygen 24/7. We live in an old farm house and until the new Aprilaire/Space-Gard 2400 system was installed I always had problems with my oxygen machine filters clogging up with dust. I ordered 2 filters the same week the new system was installed and I am still using the original filter and the air is so much cleaner. I didn't think there was any way to clean the old house from the dust and because we love old houses I did not want to move. Now with the new Aprilaire/Space-Gard 2400 system I can stay in the house we love so much and I can breathe. Thank You for going Above and Beyond in the Filter Construction; you have given me a new lease on life in our old 150+ year old home.
My service was Very Prompt, the filters arrived 3 days before they were expected.
The case arrived in Perfect Condition. I don't imagine it would matter since it is a paper filter but they take such good care of their shipments it arrived in Perfect Condition!
I did NOT need Customer Service past the Ordering Stage but if they are as good as everything else I am sure they are perfect too. However, if the time ever comes when they are needed then only time will tell.

Used this to replace the OEM media in my Aprilaire air cleaner. Silly simple to install, no need to fuss with the plastic fingers and accordian media, just unpack & drop in the original plastic frame. Gives me better MERV rating than the original equipment filter. What a bonus!

I was very disappointed. These came with absolutely no instructions. Being that this was the first time we were installing filters that did not come with the unit and these looks completely different than the original, we had no idea if they were installed correctly.

It was very easy to replace my old filter with this one. Last time I replaced, all that was available was the version that you had to spread with spacers, and it was such an ordeal that I procrastinated replacement, and my allergies suffered.
