this was an exact replacement for the original filters. i just saw a generic available and will try those next time. i get 6 months with continous airflow in my system in either a/c mode or humidifier mode. i could probably go longer but it's nice being on a schedule so i remember. they do get dirty...

Replacement filters are a little pricey for this size. But the one I got was the cheapest I could find on the Internet.

The cost of this product makes it not worth it. I find it difficult to vaccuum to "extend the life". At $60 to $70 from local Trane shops, it's not worth it. The only way to get 1 year out of it is not living in your house! Not worth the cost. "Nothing runs like a TRANE" is true. The AC is great but don't think the high end filter is worth the cost, oh and you can't buy them anywhere....$$$$
