Brand: Brita
Located in: Faucet Mount Systems
This is the classic Brita faucet-mounted filtration system that installs in minutes and lets you switch between filtered and unfiltered water with the flip of a switch. The Brita OPFF-100 uses the same filtering mechanism as the newer FF-100 system, but does not have an electronic filter change indicator. The OPFF-100 uses a mechanical meter to monitor the amount of water that has been dispensed from the system, and slowly rotates an indicator from green to red (which indicates that you should change your filter). The FF-100 uses an electronic LED to indicate when the filter should be changed (and costs quite a bit more than the OPFF-100). Brita part # 35214 Brita Water is Better Water Brita is the world's #1 brand of household water filtration. Our advanced technologies transform ordinary tap water into healthier, great-tasting drinking water. Brita's multistage filter reduces harmful contaminants (see table below) and has an added layer to trap sediment, so all that's left behind is great-tasting, cleaner water. Comments about Brita Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):

This is a handy product, the problem is the light sensor. It is hard to detect whether the light is green or red. Other than that, there was no problem.

Comments about Brita Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):

I tried to install the unit following the instructions in the manual, but the washer provided was so large for the unit that there was no way for the threads in the filter to reach the threads in the faucet. I tried the adapters, but they did not remedy the problem. Had to return the unit - very frustrated!

Comments about Brita Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):

I live in a fraternity, where the only source of water is out of a tap. I used to own a Brita Pitcher Filter, but the water was still not quite up to par. I also read that it did not remove cysts. So I decided to buy this faucet model instead and I've had some good results with it.

This filter is relatively easy to install. Since many people use the sinks we have, I add and remove it every time I need water to conserve filters. Besides the occasional difficulty of getting it started, it screws in nicely to the sink and creates a good seal. The water that comes out of it tastes awesome, almost at the level of bottled water. Also I know that what I'm drinking is pure, as cysts and harmful chemicals are removed.

The only negative thing I could say about this filter is that it occasionally leaks through the filter-remove button when the water pressure is high.

Overall, a great filter. Good work Brita!

Comments about Brita Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):

On our first attempt at installation, we discovered that the proper faucet adapter was not provided with the filter. We called the manufacturer as instructed in the directions and received the needed adapter in about one week. The filter was then simple to install. Perhaps some information on various faucets could be provided so that when we ordered we would have known to also order the extra adapter at the time we ordered the filter.
