The AquaFresh replacement filter took a mere second to install and does not leak. The taste is better than the original filters and my ice has lost that city water odor. I can't yet speak to the longevity of the filters, but I can tell you that my Frigidaire PureSource Plus filtration system doesn't seem to be able to recognize the alternative filter to turn the Replace Filter light off. I'm not worried about it. I simply wrote both the filter installation date and my planned replacement date on a small piece of paper and taped it to the outside of the filter. It would be really cool if AqauFresh provided tiny replacement month stickers like those I receive with my SoniCare toothbrush heads.

This product is designed to filter the city water that coming into my refrigerator which is used for drinking and ice making. The product works and the company I bought it from shipped it promptly. I bought it because it costs less than the Frigidare brand filter that came with the fridge and claims to work as well. I am usually very skeptical about finding "deals" but I thought that I would give these filters a try. They work great! The water tastes good, they are easy to install and it didn't take much time at all to get the air out of the system.

I replaced the old filter with the new one. I followed the instructions on how to run the water to get the air out of the line. But the awful taste or chlorine would not go away. We ran several quarts of water through the system to see if that would clear things up. It didn't. Since this is my first experience with this brand of product, I probably will not buy it again. Now, I have two extra ones which I am not sure I want to use.

The first thing I have to say about this replacement is the price is great. It does the same job as the expensive brand name we had in there. The biggest pro was that as soon as I installed it, water was FLOWING through the spout on our fridge, where it trickled from the old filter. That tells me I was long overdue. We have Well Water, so there is a noticeable taste improvement.
The only con was that that filter doesn't fit quite as snug as the previous one. The old one felt like it was really in there tight. This one felt loose in comparison. I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out if I had installed it wrong.

So far, so good. We use well water and treat it from the well before it comes into the house. However the water is very soft. These filters make the water taste very good and remove any additional 'stuff' that we don't want to drink.
