Install took a little time: air in filter and could not get to click in place. Filter caused vibrating that would not stop until I pulled out the filter.
Happened 3 times and then finally worked.
Once it was installed and air worked through, the filter works just fine.

Replacement filters are expensive and need frequent changing. It's nice to be able to find a product that is comparable to the brand name one and sold at such a reasonable price.

We were always used to good well water. We moved into town where our water is now provided via the city. Conern over chemicals in water eased "some" of our worries with using the filters.

Easy to install (but the factory-installed one that I was removing felt like it was installed with an air-powered torque wrench!) - no tools required to install the replacement! I drink water straight from the tap too (which is unfiltered) - we've got a good muni-water system and my palate is not so discerning that doing so bothers me... I'm a cynic about relying upon factory water instead of supporting your local supply!

I haven't tested the filtered water to quantitatively measure quality but I do know that it seems to remove the chlorine odor that comes with the unfiltered city water.

Our local (Cincinnati) water is of very good quality but it does have the aftertaste of chlorine. These filters dramatically improve the taste of our chilled water and ice, resulting in increased consumption. We have discontinued our use of commercially-bottled water(s). We now refill our water bottles at home. The benefits: great-tasting water on demand, a small reduction in the amount of polluting plastics in our landfill, and the savings by not purchasing bottled water (more expensive than gasoline!). The filters are easily-installed and appear to perform as well as more expensive ones.

Looks the same as the GE gswf. Water tastes good.
I think the price could be a little cheaper. Since it is not the name brand. I compared where it is manufactured and it is a different company. When I am done with the first one in a couple months I will cut it open and see if it looks the same as the GE gswf that I cut open. I am sure it will.

Unlike GE filters, these filters came unsealed, potentially allowing dirt and other contaminants to enter the filter. Given that the filters also arrived somewhat dirty, I consider this potential problem to be more than plausible.

However, the merchant made the return process very simple.

This was a great alternative to the name brand filter that came with the refrigerator. It installed easily and there is no discernible taste difference. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability and how long it lasts.

Definitely worth it to save a few dollars!!!
