I bought this filter to replace the stock GE filter that came with our GE Profile refrigerator. With the original filter it would take almost 4 minutes to fill a large water glass. After replacing with the Brita, it now takes less than 20 seconds to fill the same glass.

This filter has greatly improved the taste of our water. Our water had a strong chlorine smell and taste and now we do not notice it. I read some earlier reviews that said water pressure decreased after installation. I did not experience any decrease in water pressure. It was very easy to install. I highly recommend it.

My water output from the door water dispenser was cut in half. It is just a trickle.
I removed and re-installed filter with no improvement. I even pre-filled the filter with water prior to the first install.

I purchased this filter as a replacement for the original from the manufacturer of my refrigerator. I have used the Brita pitcher water filters for many years and decided to try one for the refrigerator, which has a built-in water and ice cube dispenser in the door. Not only does the Brita make the water taste much better, but ice cubes too. No more store-bought ice for cold drinks! The only real "con" I can think of is that it seems to take a bit longer to fill a glass of water, but this is likely due to a more thorough filtration process utilized by the Brita as opposed to OEM. That's a small price to pay for better-tasting water.

Immediately noticed the water pressure was much slower than the brand name filter that it was designed to replace. Then it got slower and slower. I'd rather pay the xtra $$ for a filter that doesn't make me wait forever.

We bought a house that came with a great fridge and I wanted to change filters to start fresh. I was a little skeptical to go against the GE filter recommended in the GE manual, but I bought this Brita from Filter-Outlet instead and am thrilled. If there is an issue with this filter it is probably GE's equipment problem not the filter. The filter works the same as the GE brand.

We use the filtered water principally for espresso/cappuccino coffee in the morning and drinking water with meals. Our old filter (GE MWF) did not last very long at all - maybe three months. We noticed one morning that the cappuccino just did not taste right. We had a glass of water to see if it that was the problem and it tasted really funky (technical term for bad tasting water). The Brita replacement cleared that up after the initial set up. Great filter and great price from filter-outlet[@] I will be a return customer without question.

Filter worked great until I turned the water off and took the filter out. As I unscrewed the filter there was a loud pop as pressure was released and there was also some squirting of residual water.

I was a little apprehesive purchasing the non-GE version of this filter, but because of the price difference I decided to give it a try. Although it made a weird noise upon installation, it has been working perfectly. I would highly recommend this product. Next time I will order the 3 pack and save even more!

Purchased Brita because of its Brand name over the original GE and save a couple of $. Brita only lasted 2 months and it stopped dispensing water. Will go back to GE.

Hi,
I'm glad you sent me this, I'm not sure about this filter, it is the 1st time I use it. I cant get the water flow to stay steady, it comes and goes. I have to remove the fiter and reinsert it to work properly, I was not experiencing this prior to this filter. I followed the instruction and filled it with water first. Is there something else I can do so that it can work properly?

Right out of the box the Brita filter was somewhat slower fill rate than the comparable GE version - don't know about durability yet - only time will tell.

I used this filter to replace the GE GWF filter. It is a perfect fit, and I have no complaints except for it makes a little bit more noise than the one from GE, but hey, my bed is not in the kitchen so I dont care!! Otherwise it is perfect and I would recommend it because it works all the same and it costs less than the one from GE.

The filter came earlier than expected which is great. It fits just like the GE filter that came with the refrig. It does the same job in the same time and costs less than the GE. Still just a bit costly.

The first time I installed it, it leaked. I reinstalled it several times, but it continued to leak. I reallized that it was not leaking from the gasket, but from the seam on top of the filter. Very disappointing.
