These filters are replacements for the GXFM04FBL and the GXFM03C Filter Performance Facts: Lead Removal.......................................99% Cysts Removal......................................99.99% Lindane Removal...................................98% Atrazine Removal..................................95% Chlorine Taste & Odor Removal............98% 1 Micron Nominal ..................................Class I Particulate Reduction Easy Installation: Use the finger tabs underneath the housing to turn the filter counterclockwise, Discard the old filter. Insert new filter cartridge into housing and turn until it stops. Flush filter for 10 minutes after installation to remove any harmless carbon fines from the system. It is recommended to flush system for 3 seconds prior to each use. IMPORTANT *Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of uknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. *Tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 and 53 in Model GXFMO4FBL. Excellent filter for problem equipment

The filter does its job very well. The problem lies with the equipment that holds the filter. I've had to replace four of them before finding one that works properly about 95% of the time. There is a small valve which is pulled out to activate the filter. after use. It is supposed to return to its original position. The current valve generally doesd its job; the previous ones didn't.

The product is used in the kitchen of my apartment. The filter does an excellent job in removing after taste and odor from our drinking water. Only complaint is that the filter housing has not been durable as I am on my third housing in two years.
