This gizmo was something that I fortunately read enough about on filter-outlet.com to realize it is a needed modification when replacing certain filters on older refrigerators. As technologies become "outdated", you will often need certain adaptation techniques to make new things work with the old. In other words, you have to spend a little extra for this adapter to make your new water filter play nice with your old refrigerator. It does what it should however, and installation couldn't have been any easier. It's just disappointing that you need to spend "a little more" just because you have an older fridge. I can live with that though since the adapter is a one-time purchase...I hope.

Product is exactly what they said it is! Easy install adapter, worked with filter that I ordered, no mess, no fuss, no tools or complicated directions! Just fresh, clean water.
Was able to track it all the way to my mail box! It was prompt and my order was complete.

The adapter made the installation of the Brita Refrig filter a snap.
