We use the filters as an adjunct to the reverse osmosis unit that is attached to our LG refrigerator. The combination appears to improve the quality of ice and water we obtain via the refrigerator. The old filter was very easy to remove and the new one to install. We are very satisfied.

"Kenmore Elite Trio" refrigerator. Purchased new about a year ago. After about 8 months water tasted metallic/chemical. Had to run off a glass full before using and taste was fine for the rest of the day. Had to repeat the next day. The new filter doesn't seem to have solved the problem. We still have to run off a glass of water before using.
There is no taste in the ice cubes.
Any suggestions?

Takes awhile for the cloudy water to clear out the filter after install but then it works fine. My neighbor installed a main line filter to the ice maker but I am too lazy to do the same. It would cut down on the filter changing and also cheaper.

This is the less costly replacement filter. While it doesn't filter as many particulates as the more costly "B" version, it does a more than adequate job. Replacement was a snap and our water tastes great. I'd buy this product again.

We finally changed the filter in our fridge after the water would just trickle out of the water dispenser. I was getting so irritated with the water dispenser that I stopped using it and bought bottled water instead. As soon as we changed the filter, the water started gushing out as it should. The water tastes great and I forgot about all the water bottles in the fridge. Thanks for a great product.

Easy to change. My last refrigerator water filter required channel lock pliers in order to be able to grasp the end to replace it. This is FABULOUSLY easy to change and have up and running in minutes. Water tastes and smells great!

Our home is on a well with a new water treatment system that includes a 5 micron sediment filter. So this filter is filtering filtered water. As such I will likely double the recommended 6 month use period. I really object to the high cost of these filters they are putting inside our refrigerators. They cost more and do the same thing that the filters we used to install behind the fridge did at half the price. That said, this filter is a quality product that does install a lot quicker than one behind the fridge.

Love the filters. Water is great. Only disagrement I have with LG is that the filter indicates it needs to be replaced in 6 months. There is no consideration about how much water has been used. Apparently a family of 10 replaces the filter at the same time as a family of one or two. There are only two in my household so I use each filter for 1 year.

It's a replacement filter for my Sear's Elite 3 dr fridge. It fits and works well for my model. But when removing the old and installing the new filter I had water leakage, no great shakes tho. Using water filters is the most economical, and environmentally friendly way to have good tasting, safe water. This filter provides both. Our family uses the water from it for drinking, ice, and cooking. Our city water has a very chemical taste and the filter completely removes it. It does slow down the water flow when it is approaching time for replacement, but that is normal with most filters and it only needs replacing every 6 months.

I would never change my filter in my fridge because of the cost of the filter. Our water here is very good anyway, so I didn't see the real need for it. Once I found these online to purchase for a significant reduction in cost, I decided I would go ahead and change the filter. Now I have two more for when the next filter change is needed.

This is our main source of filtered drinking water. Our water is normally good but after going through the filter there was noticeable improvement in flavor. The grandkids only want their drinking water coming through the refrigerator filter.
One recommended change I would make is associated with the initial install. Instead of recommending water to run through the filter for 5 minutes, I would prefer to see a fixed quanity, such as half a gallon.

All of these filters are a bit of a scam, but they make my ice taste better.
