The LG 5231JA2006A Refrigerator Water Filter is designed to fit LG Refrigerators with LG Premium Ice and Water Filter system model 5231JA2006A-S. This filter reduces chlorine, taste & odor, sediment & rust, and scale and slime from your ice and water. The 5231JA2006A has been replaced by LG with the 5231JA2006B (LT600P). The "B" filter filters more particles, but is quite a bit more expensive. Both versions of the filter are interchangeable, with the only difference being the level of filtration. The LG 2006A has been NSF/ANSI Tested & Certified to reduce: Chlorine Taste & Odor Particulates Class I The LG Filter also includes a scale and slime inhibitor but this has not been certified by the NSF. Easy to Change (Install on cold water line only) Rotate cartridge 1/4 counterclockwise Pull cartridge out Insert new cartridge, rotate 1/4 turn clockwise; flush cartridge for 5 minutes Filter Specifications: Temperature: 33°-100°F (0.6°-37.8°C) Pressure: 30-120 psi (207-827 kPa) Flow Rate: 0.5 gpm (1.89 lpm) Capacity: 300 gallons (1,135 liters) Function: Chemical/Mechanical Tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 Model 5231JA006B-S for the reduction of Nominal Particulate Class I and Chlorine Taste and Odor and against NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for the reduction of Cysts, Turbidity, Lead, Mercury, Lindane, Atrazine, 2, 4-D and Benzene. WARNING: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Change the filter cartridge every six months. Failure to follow installation, operation and maintenance instructions may result in property damage caused by water leakage and will void warranty. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of property damage due to water leakage: Read and follow Use instructions before installation and use of this system. Install on COLD water lines only. Comply with all state and local plumbing codes. Install a pressure limiting device and water hammer arrester for inlet water pressures exceeding 80 psi. (Refer to Uniform Plumbing Code, Sections 608.2 and 609.10) Never install or operate where inlet water pressure may exceed 120 psi (827kPa) Protect filter from freezing. Remove filter in temperatures below 33°F (0.6°C). Replace cartridge at specified service interval. MUST be replaced every 12 months.
