WaterSentinel Replacement for Maytag UKF7003AXX Filter The WSM-1 Filter is Made In The USA Advanced Filtration Technology This WaterSentinel refrigerator water filter contains a compressed carbon block which provides tremendous capacity to remove and/or reduce impurities and sediment that may be present in your drinking water. The carbon block has millions of active sites on it's surface and within the structure which can absorb impurities like a sponge, and can absorb and hold other types of impurities on it's surface like a magnet. Additionally this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter reduces harmful emissions from your automobile. These processes ensure that you are getting the cleanest and best tasting water possible. This economical filter will provide you with fresh and clean tasting water and ice cubes. Easy to Install: Turn off the ice maker in your refrigerator (refer to owner's manual if needed) Remove existing filter by turning filter counter-clockwise Remove packaging from new filter Optional step - apply a dab of Silicone Lubricant (included) and spread evenly on both o-rings Insert filter into refrigerator Turn clockwise, one quarter turn, until seated horizontally Turn on refrigerator ice maker Features Economical alternative to expensive substitutes Delivers clean, clear water that looks and tastes great Will remove or reduce Chlorine, Tastes and Odors that may be present in you drinking water Designed to provide up to six months of life or 416 gallons Does not remove minerals which may be beneficial to health The only refrigerator filter to include an accompanying silicone lubricant to ensure a leak-free seal! I saved almost 25% to half of what we spent on the brand name water filter...whatever that brand name was and the water tastes exactly the same. When I viewed others comments about this product they mentioned it was longer and larger then other filters, VERY little problem. I mean, how much do you really fit UNDER the filter anyhow, long or short, so DON'T let this discourage you. I admit, that is why I ALMOST didn't purchase it...VERY glad I did! So far, so good after about a month!! PS. THANKS for giving the replacement number of the filter from the refridgeration company so I KNEW I had the right filter.

Tried this replacement filter for the price and found it gives as good tasting water as the original. Don't have a way to test effectiveness and only had it for a few weeks to comment on longevity. I will probably buy it again if it continue to perform well over the long term (6 months).

Product was packaged well and easy to install. My previous filter was by Brita and I can notice that difference in the taste of the wafer after installing the filter. Brita gives you better tasting water and dosen't cost that much more. I'll go with Brita my next time around.

I bought these as a low-cost and longer lasting alternative to the OEM filters that Maytag uses. They are great..a bit taller than the original, so you may have to move your top shelf down a bit to accommodate them. However, the larger size means longer life. The water tasted fine - no difference over the original - so I would rate these high for cost & function.
