Additionally this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile. This was a first time purchase for me because I was looking for a more affordable filter and I have found it. Not only was the price much better, the water tastes great and runs into glass quickly. I also cook with thie water and the food tastse delicious.

After I installed this "compatible" water filter in my GE Monogram side by side refridgerator, my freezer stopped making ice (I don't have a water dispenser so I didn't notice right away). [...] I don't recommend this incompatible filter.

filter will not work to replace GE GWF

The filter will not work with the rubber gasket that came with it but if you remove the gasket to use the filter, it leaks constantly.
