Installation Instructions: Turn off the ice maker in your refrigerator (refer to owners manual if needed) Remove existing filter by turning filter cup, located inside your refrigerator counter clockwise, multiple turns Pull out the out filter Wash the filter cup with warm water and liquid soap, then dry Remove shrink wrap from the new filter Apply a dab of Silicone Lubricant (included) and spread evenly on O-ring of filter Insert filter into filter cup, O-ring end should be facing up Insert cup with filter into refrigerator and turn clockwise until cup is seated firmly Turn on refrigerator ice maker

The filter was just like the one from the factory that came with the fridge. Upon replacement the water was a little bubbly at first but after a week or so, it went back to normal and the water and ice tastes great.

Used this to replace the factory-filter in my Kenmore fridge for the first time. I had no problems and the water tastes great. We had to run the water for a bit to soak the filter. That water looked cloudy at first--but it was just all the tiny bubbles that made it look that way. Once the filter ran for a few minutes, we had no problems.

This is a good product for the price. The water quality is not as good as the Brita filters Ive had before, but the difference is minimal. Still a good filter, [...] I could not understand where the new o ring went, so I didnt use it.

Our public water supply has a hardness rating of 20, nearly double of what is considered "very hard". These filters are important to us! The quality of the filter seems excellent and filters the chlorine taste out of the water. However, the replacement gasket that came with the filter is thinner than the original. It wouldn't seal and I had to go with the original, thicker gasket. The package came with some kind of silicone goop to put with the thin gasket but I didn't want to spread that stuff everywhere.

The filers are much less expensive than the original equipment replacement filter. These filters included lubricant and O ring to re-install. I have used the filter for about a month and it is performing flawlessly. I will definitely purchase this filter again.
