This is a great Top Mount, Quarter-Turn, Ice/Water Filter. It does a great job of reducing chlorine taste and odor, particulates, lead, mercury and more. It also retains beneficial fluoride. This model is NSF certified which ensures consumers they are drinking clean, safe water. Make sure to replace your filter every 6 months. Reduces: Chlorine taste and odor Particulate Lead Mercury Benzene P-Dichlorobenzene O-Dichlorobenzene Ethylbenzene Toxaphene 1,2, 4-Tricholorobenzene *The contaminants removed or reduced are not necessarily in all users' water. Installation Instructions: Filter is located in the base grille. To change the filter make one quarter turn to the left. Pull old filter out, replace with a new Whirlpool Ice and Water Filter. This was a replacement for the orignal filter that was factory installed. Considering the quality of our water and how much water we use directly fron the refrigerator: drinking, cooking, coffee, tea, etc. the filter lasted a good 9 months before we had to replace it. We'll stick with this one...around here we don't fix things that ain't broke :)
