You must purge the water line of air by running approx one gallon of water or it will leak. Once that is done it works fine.

Water filter is easy to replace. We don't go by what the fridge tells us (light turn from green to yellow to red). But when the water flow drops we know it's time for a new one. Replacement is simple, water does have the filtered taste for about 2 weeks (carbon filter).

I installed this filter about two weeks ago and it was easier to install than the OEM filter. So far water purity and taste are good; we use it for all our drinking water. It is certainly a better value than the OEM product.
One thing that is difficult to assess is the life of the filter. There should be some method of determining the end of the life of the filter. With the original, water flow diminished somewhat but is that (and the recommended 6 month life span) the only way to recognize the end of the life of the filter?

These filters definitely make everything you use water for taste better. We end up using the water from the fridge for drinking, cooking, tea and coffee, etc., which leads to the only downside: Although the filter instructions indicate it may be good for up to 6 months of use, my refrigerator's filter monitor usually has me replacing it at about every 9 or 10 weeks. Still, the water tastes great!

I think others have commented on this and it is not the fault of the filter...until all of the air is out of the system, the dispenser will drip. Just keep filling those glasses until at least two of them are free of air (no more spurts).

We have a Kenmore refig and it measures the water. All I do is program the amount I need, put the pot under it, push a button and walk away. Water stops automatic when pot is full. No more measuring cups for water. Just program and put bowl, cup, pot, pan - what ever you want right under it. Water tastes great and cartridge is easy to replace. Just wish they either lasted longer or were a little more reasonably priced b/c I use it for everything. Our water in AZ is not great.

I searched several different companies that offered the same filter, and what I liked about filter-outlet was the "no hidden costs". Many other companies were cheaper however!, when you add the shipping they were higher, so don't pick the cheapest filter that shows up, look at shipping etc., and you will be surprised that the cheapest advertised is not usually the cheapest. In addition I could track my filter at anytime with their provided tracking number.

There're great, I guess, but it's a required part that you must get for the filtration to work. They're not inexpensive, but you must get them. So, theyre fine. Relatively easy to use/install, once you've figured it out, but they tend to leak a bit when you remove the used filter...

Filter is a direct replacement for the kenmore/[...] rebranded filter. The only difference I can see is the label on the filter itself and some of the molding on the filter.Just make SURE you run a about 8 pitchers of water through the filter before you drink any of the water.

The new filter is a little tricky to get in place, and it takes quite a bit of force to get it seated, but it sure beats having to turn off the water and remove old connectors to install a new one. I'm very happy with this setup. Filter-Outlet was an incredibly quick and economical option -- especially since we purchased three filters at one time.
