What is MERV?
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It is a number from a test method designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Working in a cramped attic area, removing the old media and installing the new in the existing filter assembly framework, was not easy. Installing the first pleat-separation comb was difficult, but the other 5 were OK after that. Removing the old, dusty media from the filter frame was not very sanitary. Dust conld not be contained.
