This WaterSentinel refrigerator water filter contains a compressed carbon block which provides tremendous capacity to remove and/or reduce impurities and sediment that may be present in your drinking water. The carbon block has millions of active sites on it's surface and within the structure which can absorb impurities like a sponge, and can absorb and hold other types of impurities on it's surface like a magnet. Additionally this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile. These processes ensure that you are getting the cleanest and best tasting water possible.

Installation Instructions:
Turn off the ice maker in your refrigerator (refer to owners manual if needed)
Remove existing filter by turning filter cup, located inside your refrigerator counter clockwise, multiple turns
Pull out the out filter
Wash the filter cup with warm water and liquid soap, then dry
Remove shrink wrap from the new filter
Apply a dab of Silicone Lubricant (included) and spread evenly on O-ring of filter
Insert filter into filter cup, O-ring end should be facing up
Insert cup with filter into refrigerator and turn clockwise until cup is seated firmly

In my search for a reasonably priced fridge filter, this one was a pleasant surprise. My previous Brita filter really slowed down the water flow, whereas the WaterSentinel did not. The through put is much, much higher. We use our fridge filtered water for all our cooking, coffee, tea, refill water bottles, etc. So it gets quite a workout. Not sure on the life span of these, but we'll see. I'll update whenever it expires. For now, I am very happy with the results and the price. [...]
